The all-new 2019 Skoda Rapid sedan is set to conquer a larger share of the family car market, and our exclusive images provide insight into what it would look like. Skoda plans to change its range of family cars in 2019 by offering a brand new version of its Rapid Spaceback as an alternative to the Octavia and Vauxhall Astra and Ford Focus, Auto Express has learned.
Skoda Rapid 2019 Changes
The next Rapid will lose the car “Fastback”. Only the Spaceback will survive; and even then, Skoda is likely to make his style more conventional, previewed in our exclusive images, perhaps losing the distinctive glass liftgate of the current car. However, Skoda has secured the right to use a longer version of MQB A0 than anything else within the VW group, which will support two new cars: the next Rapid, and the crossover provided by the concept. Vision X exhibited at the recent Geneva Motor Show. It is said that this car is a close look at the production model, which could be called Amiq or Anuq.
As such, the wheelbase of the Vision X is profoundly significant, because at 2645 mm, it is 25 mm longer than the current Golf. Assuming that the next Rapid shares these dimensions, it should have enough space to be a true family car, and big improvements in the quality of the interior should turn it into a real twin vehicle for the Octavia, instead to feel like a companion.
Skoda Rapid Performance 2019
The all-new 2019 Skoda Rapid will use the MQB platform. He should reduce the weight empty and prepare the car for Skoda’s electrification plans. Conventional engine options should include 1.0-liter 85 hp TSI gasoline and 1.6-liter 90-hp TDI diesel. A gasoline-CNG option such as the 110 hp 1.4 liter TGI in the Golf, is also expected.
