2018 Volvo S90 – For 2018, Volvo launches the new S90 luxury sedan. Hey, wait a second. Is it already seen? Is not it just a year ago that the Volvo S90, which had just arrived, dazzled us with its sleek lines, its magnificent Nordic cab and turbocharged four-cylinder turbocharged?
The updated 2018 Volvo S90 will join Volvo’s S60 and Buick’s Envision crossover in the small, growing number of cars built in China sold in the United States. Volvo said the move aims to free up capacity for the popular XC90 crossover on the company’s production line in Sweden; Standard wheelbase S90 sedans will continue to be built for Europe. The V90 counterpart of the S90 car, sold in the United States in Cross Country and V90 on special order, will also continue to be built in Sweden.
Although the wheelbase length of the S90 is quite large, it does not really disturb the good proportions of the car. Volvo claims that the entire section is behind the B-pillar, which directly benefits the rear passengers who earn 4.5 inches of legroom. The S90 also offers new luxury options at the rear, including massaging seats, electric blinds and a revised center armrest.
There’s a trio of choices under the hood to go: a turbocharged 4-cylinder 2.0-liter in the S90 T5, making 250 horsepower; a turbocharged and turbocharged 4-cylinder 2.0-liter in the S90 T6, producing 316 hp; and a 2.0-liter in-line turbocharged 2.0-liter turbocharged operating with an electric drive system in a range-topping, and new-for-2018 S90 T8 Twin Engine. The T8 model is rated at 400 hp and is expected to provide a massive boost, although we have not yet rolled it. All three powertrains run on an 8-speed stellar automatic transmission. T5 models come standard with front wheel drive (and optional all-wheel drive), while the T6 and T8 versions feature all-wheel drive.
As expected, Volvo has increased the price of the S90 from $ 1,105 to $ 49,095 for the entry-level T5 2018, while the more powerful all-wheel drive T6 reaches $ 55,095. The extended-range T8 plug-in hybrid costs $ 64,645. All of these figures include mandatory destination fees of $ 995.
