2018 Volkswagen Up – The small Volkswagen pocket rocket is back! You are watching the new VW Up GTI hot hatch, unveiled before the launch of its showroom in early 2018. It is a treat for this year’s Worthersee Hot Hatch festival in Austria, heavily sponsored by the Volkswagen Group
A series of stylistic updates transforms the appearance of the Up, providing it with several of the classic 2018 Volkswagen Up indices used by Volkswagen over the years. This is a new front bumper with additional cooling vents, including one integrated in a divider element, its lower edge, round fog lights with turn function and a honeycomb grid insert in plastic. Above, there is a GTI badge and a characteristic red horizontal characteristic line in the space between the headlights. GTI badges also include GTI badges in the back part of the front fenders, adhesive strips along the bottom of the doors, exterior mirrors glossy black 17in Brands Wrap the alloy wheels and front red brake calipers. At the rear, there is a unique style spoiler on the top of the tailgate with a redesigned bumper featuring a modified valance in its lower section housing a one-round chrome exhaust pipe. As in the front, there is also a GTI badge and a red line in the lower part of the hatch.
Buyers can choose between five exterior colors: Tornado Red, Pure White, Dark Silver, Black Pearl and, new in the GTI range, Costa Azul. With the exception of cars painted in Black Pearl, the Up GTI will also be available with a contrasting black roof as an option.
Inside, there’s a unique “red pixel” cut in the dash, upholstered front seats in check fabric, a black roof liner, a flat-bottomed multifunction steering wheel with red seams, a number of unique keys, including GTi insignia inside the threshold panels, a black leather-bound handbrake lever and GTi identification in the gear button, although without the conventional golf ball of the original. For the new 2018 Volkswagen Up model standard equipment is a composition infotainment system with six speakers, a USB interface, air conditioning, heated seats and heated and adjustable exterior mirrors and the aforementioned fog lights with lights static turns.
The 2018 Volkswagen Up power supply of the pocket rocket is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine with 113 hp and 147 lb. This does not seem too much power, but for a car of 810 kg, which allows the car to go from 0 to 62 km / h 8.8sec 0-62mph and a maximum speed of 122mph. Differentiate from the norm! the GTI has a lower suspension of 15 mm and an adjustment underneath.
On display at the Wörthersee event of VW in Austria it is slated for sale in the UK in early 2018 at an expected starting price of around £ 14,000. Sales for the new car will begin in early 2018
