Tata Motors’ all-new Nexon compact SUV has taken the industry by storm with its unique styling, full-featured cabin, highly efficient engines and, of course, aggressive pricing. Driven by the success of Nexon, the local automaker will soon offer its AMT version (automated manual transmission) on the market. The 2018 Tata Nexon AMT (Automatic) will support the recently launched EcoSport facelift (Platinum AT) and the next Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT variant.
Currently available in both gasoline and diesel engine options, the AMT unit will also be seen in both choices. The gasoline engine is a 1.2-liter turbocharged Revotron unit that develops 108 horsepower maximum power and a maximum torque of 170 Nm while the diesel unit is a 1.5-liter turbocharged Revotorq that is good for 108 hp / 260 Nm. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox in series.
Built on Tata’s new IMPACT design philosophy, the Nexon is one of the most beautiful cars in its segment. No changes in design and style will be made to the AMT model. It will look exactly like the standard version. The car will continue to present the headlamps of the headlamp with LED daytime running lights, dual-shade fog lamps with white ceramic strip, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and an LED taillight.
The Nexon XZA AMT will be offered in a new outdoor paint job Mari Gold. It will also be available in five colors: Moroccan Blue, Glasgow Gray, Seattle Silver, Vermont Red and Calgary White. The XZ + trim is available in two-tone color with a gloss black finish roof. Proportionally, too, the car will remain unchanged. It will be 3,995 mm long, 1,730 mm wide and 1,600 mm high with a wheelbase of 2,470 mm. This compact SUV comes with a ground clearance of 200mm, which is more than enough to cope with Indian road conditions.
Since the Nexon AMT will be based on the XZA trim, it will have all the features of comfort and safety. It will come with a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car also features a Harman 8-speaker audio system, automatic climate control, multifunction steering wheels, rear vents, two standard airbags and ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution).
The revealed scans reveal that the 2018 Tata Nexon Automatic will be offered with gasoline and diesel engine options. Based on the XZA trim, the new model could be priced at Rs 8 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 10 lakh for the diesel variant
