When Hyundai launched Genesis, many people wondered how long the full-size 2018 Hyundai Azera would stay. Apparently, the answer is “not very long”.
Hyundai announced this week that when the 2018 model year comes up, the Azera sedan will not be part of Hyundai’s US lineup. He will continue to live in the Asia-Pacific market like the Hyundai Grandeur, which is actually a much better name to start.
The automaker released Thursday the first pictures of the car that has adopted a beautiful exterior complete with the “cascading” grille that debuted on the latest i30 sedan. The interior of 2018 Hyundai Azera has a high-end look with dichromate leather surfaces.
Underpinning the car is a shared platform with the latest Kia Cadenza. No specifications have been published, but one can expect a front-wheel drive and a V6 engine corresponding to the 293 horses of the outgoing 2018 Hyundai Azera. Also look for the new 8-speed Hyundai automatic transmission specific to front-wheel drive to be mass-equipped.
If you are selling here, expect the price of 2018 Hyundai Azera to be close to the $ 34,000 starting figure of the outgoing model.
